Personal Lines Account Manager Insurance Jobs

Job Description:

This is a sales and service position. The primary function of this position is to provide quality service to clients and cross sell within the existing book of business. The Account Manager (AM) will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company and designated accounts. The AM will manage and control the relationships with his/her clients.

Daily servicing of clients will include addressing various coverage issues, contract analysis, exposure analysis, auto ID cards request the AM will work with a personal lines producer(s) in handling all the inside service work associated with the client’s program, including all endorsement activity, routine coverage questions, problem solving, renewal control, preparation of formal proposals, checking and binding policies.

The AM should have experience in all areas of personal insurance. As needed will coordinate with and defer to the Producers on strategic account issues and potential problems. The AM is responsible for the successful fulfillment of strategies.

Location: San Francisco, Los Angeles and other locations in California

Specific Requirements:

General Client Management

  • Build and maintain constructive and effective relationships with clients by meeting and exceeding expectation.
  • Provide consistent, accurate, timely, and pertinent communication to clients through “constant touch”, phone calls, e-mails, newsletter, etc.
  • Respond to client inquiries/issues within the established timelines.
  • Resolve/assist with any service or claims issues/questions.
  • Assist in design of or independently design insurance plans for clients.
  • Assist clients in making appropriate coverage changes; makes each contact a marketing opportunity.
  • Conduct face to face meetings with the clients as necessary.
  • Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures; document electronic files accordingly.
  • Respond to clients’ needs by producing binders, certificates, policies and other related items accurately and on time.
  • Monitor and review client satisfaction.
  • Maintain up to date record of communication with client.
  • Review policies.

Renewal

  • As appropriate market, negotiate, prepare, and analyze alternative renewal options.
  • Develop written, graphic, and electronic renewal material as appropriate.
  • Input required information into Applied as necessary.

Account Management

  • Know the underwriting and rating procedure for all types of personal lines policies.
  • Quote and sell personal line policies.
  • Provide technical support to Producers (coverage-wise, with proposal, suspense, items etc.) to help clients and reach agency’s business goals.
  • Prepare proposals and applications, submit them to insured’s and carriers, obtain clients’ signatures on all applications, follow up to ensure timely responses, all in conjunction with Producer.
  • Remarket, contact clients and follow-up in conjunction with producers.
  • Renew policies by agency standards.
  • Maintain agency TAM files accurately and consistently documenting conversations in notes, sending confirmations to clients, adhering to all other automation procedures.
  • Handle cancellations with care, legally saving all accounts possible with adherence to E&O guidelines.

Business Development

  • Seek referrals from client base and follow-through to get new accounts.
  • Refer life and health leads to appropriate departments.

Other Duties

  • Assist or complete other tasks as directed by agency management.

Job Specifications:

  • 5 or more years experience in Personal Lines client management.
  • CA Property and Casualty License.
  • Mastery of personal insurance underwriting, coverage & rate analysis.
  • In depth knowledge of insurance coverage’s and an ability to communicate this clearly to clients and underwriters.
  • Must understand marketplace trends and best practices to meet clients’ needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage work load.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Applied
